Carats

Carats is a weight measurement. In gemstones one carat equals one-fifth of a metric gram in weight; it is the standard unit of weight.

Origin

The origin will reference the country, region or in some cases the specific mine that the gemstone was excavated.

Clarity

The presence or absence of inclusions or flaws within a stone; A Loupe Clean gemstone is one that is free of inclusions under the magnification of a jeweler's loupe

Specific Gravity

Refers to the standard measurement of gemstone density.

Hardness - Mohs Scale

The most commonly used scale to grade a gemstone’s hardness; talc is 1, diamond is 10. Friedrich Mohs invented the scale and introduced the term Scratch Hardness, defined as the resistance of a gemstone when scratched with the pointed testing object.

Treatment

Any technique used on gemstone to change its color or clarity.

Measurement

This indicates the dimensional size of the gemstone in mm
